Former Pacific Grove and Monterey Peninsula College quarterback Tom Craft has been named the American Community College Football Coaches Association Coach of the Year at Riverside City College.
Craft, a former head coach at San Diego State, took Riverside to a 13-0 record this past fall, guiding the program to its first state title in 30 years.
In 10 seasons at Riverside, Craft is 102-15. He is the first community college football coach to win 100 plus games for two different schools, having achieved the feat at Palomar College.
Craft won nine conference titles and three state championships at Palomar. He has won nine conference titles at Riverside, capturing 10 bowl games and a state title.
Craft has made a record 20 straight postseason appearances as a community college head coach. Last fall he was named the Southern Conference Coach of the Year.
